Structure
The course is structured in four parts:  Part A: Foundations of pharmaceutical science; Part B: Case studies in pharmaceutical science; Part C: Advanced pharmaceutical science; and Part D: Placement and capstone.

Part A: Foundations of pharmaceutical science

This part consists of advanced preparatory studies and will equip you with the knowledge and skills base necessary for advanced studies in pharmaceutical science.

Part B: Case studies in pharmaceutical science

This part draws on a range of knowledge and laboratory-based case studies and scenarios to introduce you to advanced principles of pharmaceutical science.

Part C: Advanced pharmaceutical science

This part will allow you to develop your understanding of state of the art and emerging technologies in pharmaceutical sciences, and integrate this with career skills to prepare you for a professional placement.

Part D: Placement and capstone

In this part, you will undertake a professional placement in the pharmaceutical or related industries or in a research laboratory, which gives you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills to solve contemporary problems in a workplace setting.

Master’s entry points

Depending on prior qualifications you may receive entry level credit (a form of block credit) which determines your point of entry to the course:

If you are admitted at entry level 1 you complete 96 credit points, comprising Part A (24 credit points), Part B (24 credit points), Part C (24 credit points) and Part D (24 credit points). (This entry point is available in semester one only)

If you are admitted at entry level 2 you complete 72 credit points, comprising Part B (24 credit points), Part C (24 credit points) and Part D (24 credit points). (This entry point is available in semester two only)

If you are admitted at entry level 3 you complete 48 credit points, comprising Part C (24 credit points) and Part D (24 credit points). (This entry point is available in semester one only from 2023)
Note: If you are eligible for credit for prior studies you may elect not to receive the credit and complete one of the higher credit-point options.
